A run for the money

Entry deadline for Sunday’s inaugural Home Team Charity Run is Thursday. The 10K jaunt is to begin at the United Center and end at U.S. Cellular Field.
A portion of race proceeds will be split among charities of the Blackhawks, Bulls and White Sox. A festival will be held after the run at U.S. Cellular Field, with food, drink and music, as well as former players signing autographs and posing for photos. † Speaking of running, the Cubs will hold the sixth annual Race to Wrigley 5K run on April 16 at Wrigley Field. The race starts at 8 a.m. Participants for the fund-raiser may register at www.cubs.com/race. The cost is $32 for a fun run and $37 for a chip-timed run.
† The entire Cubs team is scheduled to appear at the first Bricks and Ivy Ball on April 6 from 6 to 10 p.m. at Navy Pier’s Grand Ballroom. The event includes dinner, music and auctions. Cubs legends Ernie BanksBilly Williams also are scheduled to attend. Tickets ($500) are available at www.cubs.com/bricksandivyball. and
† The next bout for the Windy City Rollers women’s roller derby league will be April 9 at UIC Pavilion with the Fury opposing the Double Crossers and the Manic Attackers taking on Hell’s Belles.
