Holy Family Ministries
Despite extensive efforts at school reform, less than half of Chicago children who enter our public high schools end up graduating. Among African American males, about a quarter will graduate.
In contrast, Holy Family students go on to some of the strongest high schools in the area: 100% have been accepted at high schools of choice over the past 3 years, avoiding the three failing neighborhood high schools where the average ACT score is 14.
Tenita is one of our graduates who is now a junior at Walther Lutheran High School, which boasts an average ACT score of 24. Her mother says Tenita gained confidence and learned to be an independent thinker and a "go-getter" at Holy Family. "Sending Tenita to Holy Family was one of the best decisions I've made in my life."
Gifts from people like you help prepare students like Tenita to succeed in high school, college, and beyond.
We've already met our Board challenge, but students like Tenita still need your help. Please make a contribution to help ensure that we continue to provide an excellent education for students from Chicago neighborhoods with the lowest incomes and most struggling public schools.
Please give as much as you can to help other students like Tenita.
Sincerely,
Susan Work
