To have a good friend means

To have a good friend means everything in the world. Everything.  Thanks Eugene, Dena Jo, & the Darling Stephanie:

First met Eugene on a Friday night at the duplicate bridge game in Mount Prospect, IL.  He had broken his ankle and was on a crutch.  He'd caught his fiance messin' round with another man.  Broken ankle, broken heart; thank heavens for duplicate bridge.  Chuck (the hideous hog) partnered us up.  We sucked.  Next afternoon around 4 p.m., Eugene calls to discuss the hands.  We go over every bloomin' one of 'em. Good God in Heaven - you just gave me a BRIDGE PARTNER.  We were so young, hardly knowing what we were doing, but we did it pretty damn well, all things considered.

Thanks Eug. Your friendship means (and helps define) my world.

Your bosom, couNtin' bridge buddy; your bridge partner forever.
