State troopers said they were fired on while working morning detail on I-93 in Medford

Two State troopers working a paid detail on Interstate 93 in Medford early this morning said they were fired on by someone in a passing vehicle, according to State Police.
The troopers were working on I-93 northbound near Route 60 at about 1 a.m. when they reported a single shot fired from a passing four-door sedan, according to a statement from State Police.
The officers saw a muzzle flash and heard the sound of a gun discharge, according to the statement. No injuries were reported.
Due to traffic conditions, the vehicle was able to leave the area before police could stop it, according to the statement.
No further details were released.
