Three MQM workers killed in Karachi
KARACHI: Three workers of the MQM were killed in a firing incident in the Mehmoodabad area of Karachi on Tuesday, DawnNews reported.
The three activists of MQM, Syed Asif Ali, Naeem and Munir were seriously injured when unknown men on motorcycles attacked them. They succumbed to their injuries on the way to Jinnah Hospital.
According to police in the area, the victims were employees of the Water Board.
Following the target killings, clashes broke out in numerous areas of the city and shops and stalls in the area immediately shut down.
Rangers and police have increased their presence in the city.
In the last 48 hours, eight people have fallen victim to target killings in Karachi.
However, Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah also on Monday, claimed that target killings in Karachi were under control.
The CM said that top priority was being given to the law and order situation in the city and legal action would be taken against those involved in the criminal acts.
