I am having a hard time digesting the front of the local section on Saturday regarding Lodge and Deschner's boulder removal. People in California chose to build where there are mudslides, they live on earthquake faults, and some build in the deep forests. In Billings, some live under the Rims, knowing full well that sandstone loosens with time and that it is a risk with possible boulders. May I suggest that they increase their insurance policy. Once again the City, i.e. the taxpayers, are supposed to pick up someone else's bill. The city is not responsible. It is an act of nature.
