I am writing to express my appreciation for Rep. Keith Farnham’s efforts to change the job market climate by sponsoring legislation making it illegal for employers to request a potential employee’s credit history.
With the uncertain economic times facing our state and country, many hard working people and their families have fallen into financial crisis. People are losing their jobs and being laid off at an alarming rate, and the last thing we need is for employers to be able to deny employment based on credit history.
I want to thank Rep. Farnham for doing everything he can to make gaining employment and advancement as fair as possible. I feel fortunate that my representative is concerned about putting people back to work in a time when we need it the most.
