Prison agency investigating death of inmate at facility near Cumberland The Associated Press 7:10 PM EST, February 2, 2011

death of an inmate at the Western Correctional Institution near Cumberland.
The Department of Public Safety  and Correctional Services says a staff member of the maximum-security prison found the 41-year-old inmate unresponsive in his cell around 5:15 a.m. Wednesday. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and the agency says the cause of death is unknown.
The department says an internal investigative unit is looking into the matter and state police have been notified.

The agency hasn't released the inmate's name. He was serving 11 years for rape and sexual assault.
