Kernan man found dead in snow
A Kernan man died early Wednesday after his car became stranded in the snow. Andrew W. Berg, 47, was pronounced dead at 12:45 a.m. in the emergency room at St. Mary's Hospital in Streator. The sheriff's office said Berg was reportedly driving on the Kernan Blacktop when his car became stuck. He apparently set off to walk the approximate one mile to his Kernan home, but friends and family who were looking for him found him several hundred feet from his car. They then took him to the hospital. Kernan is about four miles east of Streator. The death is under investigation by the sheriff's and coroner's offices. |
