Wondering where to get a great meal in the area? Bites Nearby will offer a weekly pick and your suggestions are welcome.
Breakfast is about beginnings. So we’ll start out our Bites Nearby weekly feature, with a great spot to eat breakfast.
Walker Bros. Pancake House in Lake Zurich has a long tradition of serving a scrumptious breakfast meal. While the menu is varied, pancakes are the focus at Walker Bros. and the suburban chain has won many accolades.
The apple pancake is locally famous; it’s bursting with fresh apples and topped with cinnamon and French vanilla ice cream. The potato pancakes, made with fresh-ground Idaho potatoes, are better than grandmas. The menu also includes Swedish pancakes, Belgium waffles and much more..
“We make all our batters from scratch. Everything is as fresh as possible and we use top quality ingredients. We even fresh squeeze our juice,” said Jerry Lange, vacation manager for Walker Bros.
Walker Bros. offers an assortment of egg creations made with grade AA eggs.
The Lake Zurich location is one of six Walker Bros. in the north suburbs. It includes the stained glass décor that has become a tradition in the local chain. The surroundings are comfortable and attractive, with lots of wood that adds warmth.
Open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., Walker Bros. isn’t only about breakfast. The menu also includes a variety of green salads and gourmet sandwiches.
