Last week, I was fortunate enough to escape the gray, snowy cold of Barrington and spend the week in Key West, Florida. For me, Key West is about as close to paradise as it gets. There are great restaurants, colorful entertainment, all types of water sports, the beach, the pool and gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. Key West offers a wide variety of venues for events as well. Here are just a few of my favorites:
The Marquesa Hotel & Café Marquesa
Located in the heart of Old Towne Key West, The Marquesa, is the perfect spot for entertaining your top clients. This small, luxurious tropical garden oasis provides a retreat from everyday life. Corporate groups with ten rooms or less will find this hotel offers unparalleled service. Café Marquesa, their award-winning restaurant, can accommodate groups from four to 50 people and is available for buyouts.

The Gardens Hotel
Named “The Prettiest Hotel in Key West” by the New York Times, The Gardens Hotel hosts small, intimate weddings of ten or fewer people on their grounds. The hotel gives back to the community by hosting a variety of fundraising events for local charities. If you find yourself in Key West on Sunday afternoon between 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m., be sure to check out Jazz at the Gardens.

The Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory
The Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory features a 5,000 square foot glass-enclosed habitat with picturesque landscaping and 50 to 60 species of exotic butterflies. They offer a Twilight Tour Package for groups of 10 or more with a private champagne sunset tour of the gallery. For wedding parties of 20 or less, the Conservatory promises a magical wedding in the gallery complete with a special butterfly release to commemorate the event.

West Martello Tower
The West Martello Tower is a lush tropical garden with a beautiful gazebo situated on a hill with a gorgeous view of the ocean as the backdrop. Maintained by the Key West Garden Club, the Tower is available for weddings and events.

Casa Marina Resort
A more traditional hotel, the Casa Marina opened on New Year’s Eve 1920. This Waldorf Astoria Collection resort features three ballrooms, the largest private beachfront space in Key West and two pool decks for corporate events, weddings and social events. Be sure to stop in and have a drink at the ocean front bar.
