There is no such thing as a “Caucasian trace” and there is no such thing as Caucasian Jamaat. There is just a group of terrorists who will be eliminated, the president of Russia’s southern republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, told RT in an exclusive interview.
“Our high ranking officials and intelligence officers often talk about some “Caucasian trace” when they report on different versions [of terrorist acts]. I have often heard that. I have even repeatedly raised this question at the Security Council. There is no such thing as a “Caucasian trace” and there is not any special Caucasian Jamaat, which some love to talk about, just as there is no Moscow Jamaat,” Ramzan Kadyrov said.
“We make the situation worse ourselves and create grounds for such suspicions in society.”
The Chechen president went on to add that Western media is deliberately smearing the Caucasus and make it look as if it is a breeding grounds for terrorism.
“They rush to tell the world that the Caucasus is the place where there is no order, where everybody is ready to kill everybody, as if we are all murderers and terrorists. They show the world community a bandit who has a Chechen, Dagestani or Ingush face,” he said.
“They want Siberia, Povolzhye, St. Petersburg and other [Russian] regions to fear us. They want to prevent consolidation of Russian society. This is dirty politics.”
Ramzan Kadyrov stressed that the Caucasus is part of Russia and observed that terrorism has no nationality.
“I believe that if a Caucasus national is involved in this case [the Domodedovo bombing], we need to say that he is a bandit, without nationality, religion and Motherland. He is a terrorist. If he dies, it is good. If not, we need to fight and eliminate him,” he concluded.
